A 7 minute timer you can see
Seven minutes is a little longer than a five-minute burst: enough for a short workout, a quick meal step or a real pause.
This is a visual timer. The time is a blue disk that shrinks as the minutes pass: more disk, more time. You can read it in one glance from across a room, with no numbers to work out. The last minute turns amber, and the end is one soft chime.
What 7 minutes are good for
- A seven-minute bodyweight workout: twelve short exercises with brief rests.
- Boiling an egg until the yolk is soft and jammy (about six to seven minutes, depending on the egg and the stove).
- A short guided breathing or quiet time before bed.
- Getting dressed and ready for school, one visible block.
One tip
For a child getting ready, put the disk where they dress and name the steps before you start: shirt, trousers, socks. Seven minutes is long enough to finish without rushing and short enough to stay on track.

Need a different length? Type any number of minutes from 1 to 180 in the Custom box, or open the main visual timer, which remembers the length you used last. For work and break cycles that run themselves, use the pomodoro timer.
Why a shape works better than numbers
Numbers only help if you can feel what "7 minutes" is like. For many children, and for many people with ADHD, that feeling is unreliable. This is often called time blindness. A disk that shrinks turns time into something you can see, so nobody has to guess. More in our guide to visual timers.
Questions about the 7 minute timer
What is the 7-minute workout?
A popular routine of twelve bodyweight exercises, about 30 seconds each with short rests, that fits into roughly seven minutes. It is a quick way to move, not a replacement for advice from a doctor or trainer.
How long do I boil an egg for a soft yolk?
Around six to seven minutes in boiling water for a large egg gives a soft, jammy yolk, but stoves and egg sizes vary. Try seven minutes, then adjust next time.
Is this 7 minute timer free?
Yes. It is free, with no signup and no account. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet, laptop or classroom screen.
Does the 7 minute timer make a loud alarm?
No. It plays one soft chime at the end and the disk turns amber, not red. You can switch the sound off with the bell button.
