Size Safari 🦒

Big and small, long and short, wide and narrow. Six calm size games for ages 4 to 6, in English and हिंदी.

🦒 Size Safari

Six size games in one safari

  1. Elephant and Mouse (big and small). Touch the big one or the small one, then pull the circle to make the mouse big.
  2. Stretchy Snakes (long and short). Both snakes start at the same line, so length is a fair comparison. Then pull a snake's head to make it long.
  3. Bridge Builder (wide and narrow). The baby elephant needs the wide bridge and the mouse can use the narrow one. Then pull the sides to widen a bridge.
  4. Giraffe Garden (tall and short). Both giraffes stand on the same ground. Then stretch a neck up to reach the leaves.
  5. Pizza Party (large and small). Touch the large pizza, then pull the edge to make one large.
  6. Road Builder (length and width). Both roads point the same way. Drive the car to the end of a short road, then a long road, to feel the difference. Then pull a road forward to make it long, and pull the side to make it wide.

How each game works

Every activity starts with a short demonstration: a hand points at each picture while the voice names it. Then come four questions, each with only two choices, starting with very obvious differences and getting closer. If your child gets one wrong, the next question is a little easier again. Each activity ends with a stretch-and-drag task that has a goal outline your child can see. One activity takes about two minutes; the whole safari takes ten to fifteen.

When a child picks the wrong answer there is no buzzer and no cross. The game says "Let's look again", lays one picture over the other so the difference is easy to see, points at the right answer and lets them try again.

Built for children with ADHD, autism, speech delays and language needs

  • No reading needed. Every instruction is spoken, in English or Hindi, and can be replayed with 🔁.
  • One question, two choices. Nothing else competes for attention on the screen.
  • Touch, drag and stretch. Children learn "long" by making something long, not by hearing the word.
  • No timers, no scores, no lives. Progress is five dots at the top.
  • Calm mode removes movement for children who get overwhelmed. There is never background music.
  • Private by design. No account, no tracking, and progress stays on the device.

Curriculum links

Size Safari practices these Common Core kindergarten measurement standards:

  • K.MD.A.1: Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe several measurable attributes of a single object.
  • K.MD.A.2: Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has "more of"/"less of" the attribute, and describe the difference.

In the UK this is Early Years (Reception) measures: big, small, long, short, tall. In India it matches the "big and small", "long and short" and "tall and short" chapters of pre-primary and Class 1 math.

Tips for parents and teachers

🖐 Point, then wait. Children with language delays need a few seconds to process. Let the silence work.
🗣 One word, not a sentence. After the voice, repeat just the key word: "big".
🏠 Find it at home. After the snakes, find a long sock and a short sock. After the bridges, a wide door and a narrow door.
⏸ One activity at a time. The 👪 button (press and hold) opens the grown-up screen, where you can hide activities and see progress.

Common questions

What age is Size Safari for?

Ages 4 to 6, including children with ADHD, speech or language delays, and children who find spoken instructions hard to follow. Nothing needs to be read: every instruction is spoken and shown with a picture.

Is Size Safari suitable for autistic children?

Yes, it was designed with autistic children in mind as well as children with ADHD. Every round follows the same predictable pattern, there is one clear instruction at a time, nothing flashes, there are no pop-ups or ads, sound and voice turn off with one tap, and it ends at a clear, visible point, which makes moving on easier. Calm mode stops almost all movement for children who find the screen too busy. As with any activity, follow your child's lead.

Does it work in Hindi?

Yes. Tap हिंदी on the home screen and every instruction is spoken and shown in Hindi. Speech uses your device's Hindi voice. If your device has no Hindi voice, the words still appear on screen.

How do I teach a child the difference between long and wide?

Keep the direction the same and change only one thing. In the Road Builder activity both roads point the same way: first the child pulls a road forward to make it long, then pulls the side to make it wide. Seeing the same road change in two directions makes the two words different.

What is calm mode?

Calm mode stops almost all movement on screen. There are no bouncing characters or flying stars, only a still star for a right answer. It is turned on automatically if your device is set to reduce motion, and there is never background music.

Is my child's progress private?

Yes. Progress is saved only in this browser on this device. There is no account and no name, and this page loads no analytics or tracking.
